MMLA Membership Information

The MMLA Mission

Nearly 500 individuals from mortgage banking firms, brokers, commercial banks, savings banks, credit unions, mortgage professionals, investors, insurance companies and others providing products and services to the mortgage industry are experiencing the advantages of membership in the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association.

Since 1929, the MMLA has provided the real estate finance industry access to the Legislature and state regulatory agencies to help produce and maintain the type of legislation and regulatory climate that permits lenders to fully meet the real estate financing needs of Michigan residents.

The MMLA also provides educational opportunities to help members keep abreast of the rapidly changing mortgage origination, underwriting and servicing environment. MMLA maintains timely contact with its members through newsletters, legislative alerts, and the MMLA web site to relate industry trends and developments.

Access

  • MMLA provides a conduit to improve your legislative and regulatory environments.
  • MMLA represents the mortgage industry before the Michigan Legislature on issues that affect the industry.
  • MMLA provides a medium for input to OFIR and the Corporations, Securities and Land Development Bureau on regulatory policies which impact the industry.
  • MMLA liaisons with the Mortgage Bankers Association which works with Congress and Federal regulatory authorities to protect the vital interests of the mortgage industry.

Benefits & Membership Information

Membership Structure and Dues

MMLA offers Individual memberships.  Individual Members are any individual of which a significant portion of the business is in or related to the mortgage industry. An Individual Member in good standing shall possess the right to vote, to serve on committees and serve as a committee chairperson.  An Individual Member who is affiliated with a company which has a significant portion of its business is originating or servicing of mortgage loans will also posses the right to serve on the MMLA State Board of Governors.  The dues amount is set annualy by the board of governors.  The dues fee is $129 per individual member.
