This is a 2-day, intense overview of the mortgage loan process. It is designed to jump-start the careers of your newer, LO’s, LOA’s, Processors or Underwriters. This course will take attendees through a deeper understanding of both the “what” and “why” aspects of mortgage lending.  Whether you are new to the industry or just want a refresher, this is a great course providing written materials for you to take back to your office.

Topics covered will include, but are not limited to…

  • Understanding mortgage industry lingo
  • Identify different types of mortgage lenders, investors and departments
  • Understand and explain different loan types and programs
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete a loan application
  • Calculate mortgage payments, assets and income
  • Read and understand credit reports and credit scores
  • Understanding the nuances of DU and LP
  • Reviewing documentation for accuracy and acceptability
  • Increase borrower satisfaction
  • Enhanced awareness of compliance and fraud issue

Registration Fees:
Cost for this two-day course is just $49 for MMLA members, $79 for non-MMLA Members.  The class will be held from 8 am to 4 pm each day.  Cost includes handbook, light breakfast, coffee, soft drinks, lunch and afternoon snacks both days.

About Our Speaker, MaryKay Scully:

As Genworth’s Director of Customer Education, MaryKay leads the development of our customer education curriculum. With 23 years experience at GE/Genworth, she has also served as an E-Business Development Manager, Director of Customer Education and Organizational Effectiveness, and as a Service Center Manager. Prior to Genworth, she held Loan Officer positions at various mortgage companies in the Mid-Atlantic states. MaryKay’s extensive and varied experience makes her a nationally sought after instructor and round table participant for topics as far reaching as Purchase Transaction Best Practices to TRID.

MaryKay is a graduate of the National School of Banking and received an MBA in Business Administration/Management from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. She has held Series 7 and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent License). She holds a Six Sigma Quality, Green Belt Certification and is a Certified Trainer in DiSC Behavioral Profiling.
