The MMLA Mid Chapter would like to invite you to a legislative update by State Representative Peter J. Lucido.  Learn about what is happening in Lansing and other initiatives he is working on.  Want to hear about road conditions, daylight savings time - just look at all the bills he has worked on since he took office in 2016.  As a regular guest on Sunday Morning news segment "Let It Rip”, and frequent guest of the Frank Beckman WJR radio show, Rep. Lucido is a very dynamic member of the Michigan legislature.  Get ready to be fired up about what is going on in Lansing and what bills Representative Lucido has currently proposed.  You won’t want to miss this dynamic speaker!

2018 is a year of significance in the State of Michigan as it relates to our elected officials who represent the citizens of this state and our industry, both in Washington DC and Lansing. Here is a brief look at what the voters in our state will be deciding on November 6, 2018:

  • Governor/Lt. Governor
  • Secretary of State
  • Attorney General
  • Two of the seven Michigan Supreme Court Justices Seats
  • One of the two US Senate seats (Stabenow)
  • 14 of the 14 congressional districts in the US House of Representatives
  • 38 of the 38 Michigan State Senate Seats
  • 110 of the 110 Michigan House of Representatives seats

State Rep. Peter J. Lucido was first elected to serve the 36th District in November 2014.  The district covers part of Macomb County including Bruce, Washington and part of Shelby townships and the Village of Romeo.

Lucido serves as vice chair of the House Law & Justice Committee, as well as a member of the Tax Policy, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Financial Liability Reform committees.

Lucido earned an associate degree from Macomb Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Business from Oakland University, a master’s in Business from Central Michigan University and a Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University School of Law).

Lucido was the founder, president and managing partner of one of Macomb County’s largest law firms.  He was also the founder and publisher of Macomb Now Magazine, and is currently the publisher emeritus.  Additionally, Lucido is a licensed attorney, insurance agent, realtor and security register representative.

Rep. Lucido has been involved in the community as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, Greater Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Farm Bureau, Italian American Cultural Center, Italian American Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees for De La Salle Collegiate, Oakland University Presidents Council Ambassador Club of St. Joseph Mercy Macomb (now known as Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals) and as a former board member for St. Joseph Mercy Macomb.
