Financing Flood Zones; A panel of local experts will share their knowledge on flood zones, flood insurance and most importantly what  all your options are when originating a home that is said to be in a flood zone.

This will be an interactive breakfast where you can ask all your questions.


Janice Hurt is an Underwriting Strategy Specialist and often referred to as Lake Michigan Credit Union’s ‘Secret Weapon’.  She has over 25 yrs in the mortgage industry working in Operations, Sales, and Management.  Most of that time was in the Correspondent and Wholesale channels before landing in the Retail arena at LMCU.  As the ‘Go to’ person for information, Janice supports 100+ members of the Sales Team.  She served many years supporting the MMLA at both the State and Chapter levels and is the former President of the MMLA West Chapter.  She currently resides in Grand Rapids with her two teenagers and a dog, plus a recently inherited 18 yr old cat that will most likely outlive us all. 


 Alistair Lynch is the owner of The Lynch Agency – Farm Bureau Insurance, a local West Michigan agency located in both Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore.

Alistair specializes in the mortgage and real estate purchase process and has solutions for the complexity of every purchase deal.   He has a background with flood insurance and knows that this can be a deal breaker for homes requiring this type of insurance.

Alistair has a wife, Heather, and two children, Ian and Kennedy.  Alistair currently resides in Rockford, and has 100 different hobbies asides from work!

Scott Hendges, PS
Senior Survey Manager at Nederveld, Inc.

Scott is responsible for all survey related projects in the West Michigan area, including Ottawa, Allegan, & Muskegon counties along with all counties bordering Lake Michigan. He handles client relations, scheduling, pricing, reviewing, and management of land surveys and survey related topics for large scale projects.

He specializes in flood study information (Elevation Certificates and Letters of Map Amendments), ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographical (Elevation) Surveys, and legal descriptions
