 SE Chapter 2022    President

Happy New Year and Welcome to the Southeast Chapter!

We closed out 2021 with our Holiday Party at the Whiskey Factory Detroit. Thank you to Dave Sparling and team for creating a fun end to the year, while also collecting toys and raising over $1,600 for the Ronald McDonald House. Another huge thank you goes to Steve Scheel. His leadership in 2021 guided the SE Chapter to a successful year and pulled together a solid group of leaders for 2021 and set up the chapter for continued success in 2022.

Our 2022 SE Leadership team consists of:

  • Vice President - Dave Sparling, Success Mortgage Partners
  • Luncheon/Education Chair – John Chesney, Huntington Bank
  • Golf Chair - Nate Motta, Success Mortgage Partners
  • Holiday Party Chair – Richard Spears, Huntington Bank
  • Community Involvement Chair – Mike Fontana, Guaranteed Rate
  • Members
    • Karen Bondar, Arch MI
    • Grant Spencer, Michigan First Mortgage
    • Paula Sawitski, Union Home Mortgage
    • Steve Scheel, Croskey Lanni

As 2022 begins, we continue to be mindful of the health and safety of our members. The regular chapter meetings will remain virtual and our kick-off event has been scheduled for March 2nd, so be on the look out for more information. Remember to save the date for the golf outing on June 8th at Cherry Creek Golf Club. Our industry has been fortunate over the last couple of years and, in addition to our normal events, we will be hosting community service opportunities for our members to strengthen bonds in our communities.

Being a member of the MMLA is rewarding on many levels from professional development to networking to giving back. I encourage you all to participate in and volunteer for the many opportunities the MMLA provides.  Contact me if you would like to help any of these committees.

I’m honored to serve as your 2022 SE Chapter President. I look forward to seeing you at our events!
