Every Member…Every Year!

MORBANPAC is the non-partisan political action committee of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association. It operates at the state level to support elected officials and candidates whose philosophies and positions support the real estate finance industry.

Every year, MORBANPAC depends on individual contributions to help support its mission.  Recent issues that MMLA has been involved in, with the help of its MORBANPAC influence include:

  • Actively involved to make sure Realtors and Appraisers were designated as “essential” at the beginning of the COVID pandemic
  • Remember the new Juneteenth Holiday issue last year? MMLA stepped in to put pressure on CFPB to issue a formal statement for mortgage lenders and helped get the rule allowing lenders to choose whether to adopt the law in 2021 or 2022
  • Helped craft the Michigan Mortgage partnership forbearance language
  • Codifying RON in emergency orders, then by statute
  • Input on notary legislation that is still ongoing
  • Helpful support to first time homebuyers bills (Realtors)
  • Input on the CERA (rental assistance) program
  • Helping craft the rules and administration of the Homeowners Assistance Fund from MSDHA (upcoming)

We are asking for your contribution for 2022.  With the elections coming this fall, your contribution is  more important this year!  Consider becoming a MAC$250 Club member and $250 to get the perks and support this cause. If every MMLA member donated just $25 we would smash our 2022 goal of $35,000.   Please help MMLA reach this goal in 2022 - donate now by clicking here.

Thanks in advance for your support of MORBANPAC!
