Housing Recession or Big Shift to Multi-Family? Maybe Some of Both...

The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) has posted an updated version of the Draft Missing Middle Housing Plan documents on its website.  The Missing Middle Housing program page can be accessed at the following link: https://www.michigan.gov/mshda/developers/missing-middle.

Over the past weeks, MSHDA has had many great conversations with many stakeholders who have interest in and thoughts about the Missing Middle Housing program.  Those conversations and suggestions have all been carefully considered in the creation of this updated draft.

MSHDA is officially commencing the beginning of a public comment period that will last until August 10, 2022.  Any comments that are submitted between now and then will be carefully considered in the formulation of the final draft of the Missing Middle Housing Plan that will be presented to the MSHDA Board for consideration (expected to occur at the August 2022 MSHDA board meeting).

All comments should be e-mailed to [email protected].

A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document is also being prepared and will be posted to the Missing Middle webpage soon in order to assist with answering common questions about the Missing Middle Housing program.  Thank you for your interest and participation in this exciting opportunity.
